Everyone deserves to feel understood, accepted, and supported in the way their brain works best.
The Sensory OT
About Me
I’m a highly specialist occupational therapist with a deep commitment to helping children, young people and adults better understand themselves through the lens of sensory processing, emotional wellbeing, and neurodiversity. Since qualifying in 2018, I’ve worked across a wide range of settings in both the UK and Australia, supporting people to feel more regulated, connected, and confident in their everyday lives.
I became the Occupational Therapist for a Social Communication and Autism Team, offering highly specialist assessments and support. I’m trained in both the ADOS and ADI-R, but my passion lies in helping people make sense of their sensory world and how it shapes their experience — beyond just diagnostic pathways.
My specialist interest is in neurodiversity, and I’ve completed Module 2 of Sensory Integration training, alongside many years of practice delivering sensory assessments and intervention.
Most recently, I spent 15 months working in Australia, supporting children and families in areas such as emotional regulation, motor skills, mental health, sensory processing and functional independence. Alongside assessment and intervention, I’ve also developed and delivered training for professionals and families, with a focus on practical, neuro-affirming approaches.
Above all, my work is grounded in compassion, curiosity and the belief that everyone deserves to understand how they function best in the world — and to be supported to thrive.
Services
-
This service helps children, young people, and adults understand how their sensory processing influences emotions, focus, and daily life.
Through an online sensory assessment, I explore how the brain interprets information from the senses — such as sound, touch, movement, and body awareness — and how this impacts comfort, participation, and regulation at home, school, or work.
-
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) provides a detailed understanding of an individual’s everyday strengths, challenges, and support needs.
This holistic assessment explores areas such as:
Executive functioning and attention
Sensory processing and emotional regulation
Motor and process skills
Daily living skills (e.g. self-care, organisation, routines)
Participation in school, work, and leisure
The assessment offers a comprehensive overview of overall functioning, helping individuals, families, or schools understand how to best support engagement, wellbeing, and independence.
-
Ongoing Occupational Therapy sessions help children, young people, and adults develop independence in everyday life.
Sessions focus on areas such as:
Self-care and daily living skills (dressing, meal prep, organisation)
Emotional and sensory regulation to support functional independence
Executive functioning skills, including planning, time management, and task completion
Participation in school, work, and home routines
Each session is tailored to individual goals, using practical strategies that empower individuals to manage daily tasks confidently and independently.
-
Occupational Therapy supports neurodivergent children, young people, and adults to understand their unique sensory, emotional, and functional profiles.
Using a neurodiversity-affirming approach, sessions focus on identifying strengths, exploring challenges with curiosity, and creating practical strategies to improve comfort, confidence, and participation in daily life.
Support may include understanding sensory processing, building emotional regulation, enhancing executive functioning, and developing routines that truly work for the individual.

Functional Capacity Assessments
Understanding how we function in daily life is key to building confidence, independence, and wellbeing. A Functional Capacity Assessment provides an in-depth look at the different areas that shape how a child, young person, or adult manages at home, school, work, and in the community.
This comprehensive assessment explores:
Executive functioning (attention, planning, organisation, self-monitoring)
Motor skills (fine and gross motor abilities)
Process skills (how tasks are approached and completed)
Sensory processing (responses to sensory input and their impact on regulation)
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) (self-care, independence, participation in routines)
Emotional regulation and how it links with daily functioning
The result is a detailed picture of strengths and challenges, alongside personalised, neuro-affirming recommendations to support learning, participation, and wellbeing. This can be especially helpful for families, schools, and professionals to understand and make practical changes that truly fit the individual.
What’s included:
Initial consultation
Full assessment (online, using interviews, observations, and standardised tools where appropriate)
School/Professional Liaison Meeting (online)
A comprehensive written report with practical strategies and recommendations
A feedback session to discuss findings and next steps

What is Sensory Processing?
Sensory processing is the way our brains receive, interpret, and respond to information from the world around us. Every second, we take in messages from our senses - sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, movement, balance, and body awareness. For most people, the brain organises this information automatically, helping us to feel safe, focused, and able to join in with daily life.
For some children, young people, and adults, the brain can find this process more challenging. Certain sensations may feel overwhelming, while others may not be noticed enough. This can affect attention, emotions, behaviour, and how comfortable someone feels in different environments.
Feeling overwhelmed in busy or noisy places
Being very sensitive to touch, textures, or clothing
Seeking out movement or fidgeting to stay focused
Finding it difficult to sit still or concentrate
Avoiding certain foods because of taste or texture
Struggling with emotional regulation linked to sensory input
Sensory processing impacts how we learn, play, work, and connect with others. When we understand our sensory profile, we can make small adjustments that have a big impact on comfort, wellbeing, and confidence.
Through online sensory assessments and intervention, I work with children, young people, and adults to explore their sensory profile. Together, we create strategies that support emotional regulation, independence, and daily life.
What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is the idea that all brains work differently — and that these differences are a natural and valuable part of human diversity.
Just as we all have unique personalities, strengths, and preferences, we also have unique ways of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world.
The term neurodiversity includes people who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, developmental coordination disorder, or have other neurological differences — as well as those who are neurotypical. Rather than seeing these differences as something to be “fixed,” the neurodiversity perspective recognises them as variations of human experience that can bring creativity, innovation, and depth of insight.
Why it matters
Understanding neurodiversity helps shift the focus from trying to change the person, to instead changing environments, expectations, and supports so individuals can thrive as they are.
In my work, a neurodiversity-affirming approach means:
Recognising and celebrating individual strengths
Exploring challenges with curiosity, not judgment
Supporting sensory and emotional needs in practical, compassionate ways
Helping individuals and families understand what helps them feel comfortable, capable, and confident
Reserve an appointment
Take the first step toward better understanding and supporting your sensory and emotional wellbeing. Whether you’re booking for yourself or your child, sessions are designed to be personalised, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based occupational therapy. Every appointment is an opportunity to explore what works best for you - with your comfort, needs, and goals at the heart of the process.
I’ve chosen to offer my appointments online because it makes support more accessible, flexible, and comfortable for the people I work with. Many children, young people, and adults feel more at ease in their own environment, which allows us to explore sensory needs and emotional regulation in real time, where day-to-day life actually happens.
Online sessions also mean:
No travel time or costs.
Reduced stress and sensory load.
Consistent access to specialist support, wherever you live.
This approach allows me to support clients across the UK and internationally, using secure video platforms that make sessions easy to join from home, school, or work.
